Az Nem tudom mikor volt először jó című képet Rebeka macskáról készítettem, aki már nagyon öreg macska, 14 éve él velem, de befogadásakor sem volt fiatal. A harmadik könyvemben külön fejezetet szentelek neki, ő volt az első macskám akit el akartak altatni 14 évvel ezelőtt, de én küzdöttem és adtam neki plusz 14 évet. Mindig is nagyon büszke és ellentmondást nem tűrő macska volt, jelenleg vesebeteg, nem tudni meddig él még. A fotók róla ott vannak a képek között és magukért beszélnek, hogy milyen cica.

A kép a Final Show macskasziluett-sorozat része, amelyben a macska karakterének esszenciáját igyekeztem maszkszerűen megragadni álarc formában: erről itt olvashatsz bővebben. Először a macskát megrajzoltam, majd külön a sziluettjét, ezután kivágtam, és monotípia képzőművészeti eljárással nyomatokat készítettem belőle. Ez a folyamat inspirált arra, hogy akrilfestményként is megfessem.

The painting titled I Don’t Know When It Was First Good depicts Rebeka, a very old cat who has been with me for 14 years. She wasn’t young when I took her in either. I dedicate a special chapter to her in my third book — she was my first cat who was going to be euthanized 14 years ago, but I fought for her and gave her an additional 14 years. She has always been a very proud and strong-willed cat. Currently, she suffers from kidney disease, and it’s uncertain how much time she has left. Photos of her are included among the images, and they speak for themselves about what kind of cat she is.

This piece is part of the Final Show cat silhouette series, in which I aimed to capture the essence of the cat’s character in a mask-like form: you can read more about this here. First, I drew the cat, then separately the silhouette, which I cut out and used to create monotype prints. This process inspired me to also create an acrylic painting based on it.

The prints are produced through artistic scanning and art print printing techniques, perfectly preserving the details of the original painting visually — the difference is only noticeable in the texture.
