The Doll Looks, and Looks was my very first glass artwork and also served as my graduation project at the Jaschik Art Vocational School’s glass program.

You can view my portfolios documenting this process here. The Doll Looks, and Looks is part of the Final Show cat silhouette series, in which I aimed to capture the essence of a cat’s character. You can read more about the series here, including the deeper meaning behind the silhouettes and why it’s called Final Show. The piece was inspired by a real cat named Izabella (FIV+); the silhouette is a combination of two photos of her, which you can also find among the images. I first sketched the cat’s skeleton to understand the form, then drew its silhouette, cut it out, and created prints using the monotype technique. After the paper prints, I turned the design into a glass artwork, later transforming it into watercolor and acrylic paintings, tote bags, and linocut prints. The original series consists of seven pieces, and I made a video about it—you can watch it here.
