Az „Összekuckorodás”, a „Nyomok a múltból” macskasziluett-sorozat része. Hogyan konzerválódnak az identitások, milyen lenyomatok maradnak meg a másikról, hogyan éljük át a jelenlétet és a hiányt? Milyen töredékekre emlékezünk, ha saját magunkról, vagy egy másik természeti lényről, egy macskáról van szó?Milyen látható és nem látható rétegei vannak a szeretetnek, hogyan jelenik meg az intimitás, együttlét, közelség, milyen érzelmi tájat társítunk egy hozzánk közel álló élőlényhez?

Az „Összekuckorodás” sorozat az ösztönös visszahúzódás és önvédelem gesztusát vizsgálja — egy olyan testtartást, amely egyszerre bensőséges és egyetemes. Ahogy a macskák összegömbölyödnek alvás közben, a megnyugvás és bizonytalanság közti átmenetet idézik meg, jelenlétük megnyugtató. A begömbölyödő test a transzformáció metaforájává válik: a jelenlét és eltűnés határán lebeg, visszhangozva az identitás állandóan változó természetét.

Egy olyan világban, ahol az identitást folyamatosan külső erők formálják, gyakran többféle szerepet és arcot veszünk magunkra. Ezek a szerepek nem állandóak, hanem velünk változnak különböző közegek, kultúrák és kapcsolatok között visszhangként működnek. Az identitások összemosódása – akárcsak egy maszk rétegei – dinamikus kölcsönhatást hoznak létre, ahol az én határai elmozdulhatnak, összeolvadnak vagy átfedésbe kerülnek másokkal. Ezek összetett, folyamatosan alakuló konstrukciók, amelyek az emberi tapasztalat sokrétű természetét tükrözik. Ebben a folyamatban az új identitások létrejötte nemcsak lehetségessé, hanem elkerülhetetlenné válik, ahogy új helyzetekhez alkalmazkodunk, és ismeretlen kihívásokkal találkozunk. Így töredékeket találtam, szimbólumokat, rétegeket, és az örök emlékezetet, amely a formában van. A változó és nyúló időben a nyomot egy mozdulat visszhangozza örökre.

ECHOES – TRACES FROM THE PAST

How are identities preserved? What imprints remain of ourselves and others? How do we experience presence and absence, and what fragments do we carry with us – whether about ourselves or another being, like a cat?

What visible and invisible layers does love have? How do intimacy and closeness manifest, and what emotional landscapes do we associate with a living creature we feel connected to?

The “Curling Up” series explores the instinctive gesture of withdrawal and self-protection – a posture that feels both intimate and universal. The way cats curl up while sleeping evokes a state suspended between comfort and uncertainty; their quiet presence brings solace to the human soul. The curled-up body also becomes a metaphor for transformation: it hovers at the threshold between presence and disappearance, echoing the constantly shifting nature of identity.

The masks and hybrid identity works explore the transformation of the self and the fluid boundaries between different states of being. Cats move like shadows, as if existing on the edges of space and time. Their silhouettes act as visual signs: shadow-like forms that resonate as reflections of the other, their meanings intertwined like overlapping traces.

Cats – mysterious, multifaceted creatures – are striking metaphors for masks. They are at once companions and independent survivors, playful tricksters and dignified rulers, wild creatures of nature. A cat’s identity is never fixed – it shifts moment by moment, shaped by environment, mood, and connection.

This project highlights that the identities behind masks are not exclusively human. Ritual masks symbolize transformation and change; through them, I created archetypal forms that avoid clichés yet capture the essence of the cat. During my research, I found few authentic cat silhouettes, so I developed my own: first sketching their skeletons to understand the structure, then drawing from live cats before shaping the silhouettes.

In a world where identity is constantly molded by external forces, we take on multiple faces and roles. These roles are never permanent – they shift with context, culture, and relationships, overlapping and merging into one another. Identity is a fluid, ever-evolving construct, where new selves emerge inevitably as we adapt to new situations and face unknown challenges.

While preparing for this exhibition, I delved deep into my own identity and my relationship with cats. I uncovered fragments, symbols, layers, and a sense of eternal memory preserved in form. In the mutable, stretching fabric of time, I found a trace that a single gesture can echo forever.
